Bed Time Rituals For Sleeping Baby Wakes Up Smiling

Is your baby fussy? Do you feel stress to care for a fussy baby?

If you are a SAHM, that’s more stressful because you have no way to escape.

Is okay. You are not alone in the world struggling how to put your baby to sleep. Caring a fussy baby is stressful, especially when you are exhausted and done all the SOP: change diaper, nurse, burp, massage, and adjust room temperature.

Sleep is one of the main factors causing fussiness in baby. Sleepy baby is the angry baby.

There are few ways to put baby to sleep: rock, cuddle, feeding and etc.

But I think the best way is regulate baby’s sleep-wake cycle by sleep and wake up at the same time everyday. And each time before putting baby to sleep must perform the same bedtime ritual so baby knows is time to sleep.

What are the bedtime ritual you can do? Well, everyone can have different sleeping rituals. Most importantly, it is consistent to give your baby a heads-up that’s time to sleep.

Reading a bedtime story to your children is a way to connect with your children. It definitely creates good memories for you and your children when they grow up.

2.            Comforting kiss and cuddle before put your baby in crib

Kiss and cuddle is a way to show love to your child. Besides making your child feel loved, your child feel secure before going to bed.

3.            Turn off the light

Absence of light sends signal to body that it is time to rest.

4. Massage

Massage helps to make your baby feel relaxed and improve sleep.

5.            Be confident in your child

Believe that your child can have her or his own way of self-soothing. From birth, interactions of a mother with a baby helps to shape the way he or she thinks and feels. Hence, good emotional health of a mother tends to raise up a confident and happy child.

Before all the bedtime routine, make sure your baby is awake before putting him or her in the crib. Transferring a sleeping baby from your arms to crib will cause baby cry when she wakes up in the middle of night because of not recognizing the change of the surrounding.
